Inspired by DJ Drama’s Gansta Grillz, the album favors brash beats and raw rhymes whilst small glimmers of jazz and reggae make themselves present in the 52-minute run time.
Debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 in the US, lyrically the album focuses on Tyler growing as an artist. Early in his career, Tyler’s music was raunchy, crass, and filled with shock value, which lead Tyler to be banned from entering certain countries. Call Me If You Get Lost showcases Tyler’s newfound worldliness—and his inability to leverage that sophistication into the relationship of his dreams.
