When looking at the Gothic Rock genre the 1989 album Disintegration by The Cure is sure to make an appearance. This album is the pinnacle of the goth and alternative sound.
At the time of recording, the band had made its way into the mainstream with their more pop-centric tracks. The bands' distaste for this newfound popularity and Smith’s relapse back into the use of hallucinogenic drugs had a strong influence on the production of Disintegration.
Incorporating synths with traditional guitars, drums, and bass allowed the band to experiment with new sounds and arrangements. These new sounds also allowed them to emphasise Robert Smith's lyrics and storytelling.

Popcultcha will only accept returns, process refunds, or exchange goods if we are contacted or notified within 7 days of you receiving the goods at your nominated delivery address. Upon us receiving the notification of damage or a manufacturing issue, we may request photographic evidence of the parcel and/or the particular product that has the issue. We will review this photo and contact you at our earliest convenience to discuss you options in relation to the product issue.
