Once again displaying profound talent and a uniquely creative vision, the Tedeschi Trucks Band’s have returned to the studio to produce their four-part project, I Am The Moon. An undertaking of a truly grand scale, I Am The Moon showcases the 12-piece band’s myriad perspectives, both musically and narratively, of the 12th Century poem Layla and Majnun by Nizami Ganjavi.

A revisitation of the inspiration provided by this poem in their previously released album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, the collectively matured outlook of the Tedeschi Trucks Band has given new life and 2 hours of fresh, emotive music from the thematic depths of Ganjavi’s work.

The third part of this epic music saga takes form in I Am The Moon: III. The Fall. Bristling with wounded-yet-defiant emotional flavour in the opening track “Somehow”, the tone of this part is considerably more moody as it considers the perspectives of the characters Layla and Majnun in a love-mad crescendo. Breaking through with some energetic solos and soaring vocals to match, there’s no doubt that this album carries impressive emotive impact.

A truly exceptional example of modern blues, the lushly layered production enhances each musician’s substantial talents with crystal clear mixing to ensure each element shines in this remarkable work of Americana.
