"Wowee Zowee" was Pavement’s third studio album. The album showcased a more experimental and spontaneous side of the group, returning them to the clatter and unpredictability of their early recordings after the classic rock vibe of 1994's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain”.
Recorded at Easley County Jail, Memphis, Pavement speak out for the first time since their incarceration. Here, as they wait to be judged, we hear the human side of the musicians and public figures as they respond to some of the more than three dozen letters they have received.
The album is a thoughtful and challenging work, the band discusses their feelings about the media, justice, religion and racism. It's certain to thrill and confound the hundreds of thousands of rock fans previously enraptured by "Crooked Rain" and "Slanted & Enchanted.”
