Origin - Lepidoptera Sheng Collection Replica Set by David Zhou (Set of 5)
Celebrate the wonders of nature with the Lepidoptera Sheng Collection Replica Set, featuring 5 exquisitely detailed pieces by the talented artist David Zhou.
Origin was created as a combination of imaginary and real animals from nature in the unique style of art by David Zhou, a traditional animal sculptor and designer of imaginary animals who lives in Shanghai with his family. The series follows the concepts of “The Origin of Species” by continuing to add more animals from exotic lands, skies and oceans to explore their environmental roles in the rich tapestry of this world.
This magnificent set includes the Nautilus Beetle (Light), Coral Cicada, Ripple Hawkmoth, Pearl Butterfly, and special Nautilus Beetle (Dark). Each of the beautiful pieces comes showcased with a themed display stand in a Bamboo Collection box measuring approximately 4.5”, and features David Zhou’s signature under the base.
This amazing set is limited to a mere 99 pieces worldwide, so don’t miss out on celebrating the Origins in your collection.
NAUTILUS BEETLE (LIGHT):
The most special feature of Nautilus Beetle is that their back wings are bare, rather than hidden under the elytra. In addition, their huge nautilus-like head armour and hidden breastplate are also a major feature. They are aggressive, have a pair of strong upper jaws and horns, and are good at pinching and throwing opponents. They are a kind of color-changing beetle that can present two completely different colors at night and day. They are metallic dark brown at night, and gradually turns into a brilliant green-orange colour when the dawn begins.
CORAL CICADA:
Coral Cicada's body is light pink, with peculiar red coral-like protrusions on the head and tail. Their backs are dotted with turquoise, and the front and back wings are cloud-grey with well-developed veins. Coral Cicada eat plant sap and secrete honey, and usually lives on white tree trunks.
RIPPLE HAWKMOTH:
Ripple Hawkmoth has slick and silky wings like a betta tail, and its chest and abdomen are covered with naturally arranged crystals, like flying gems. They tend to light at night, have weak flying ability, and usually fly on the shore of water.
PEARL BUTTERFLY:
The body of the Pearl Butterfly is golden, the wings are shining with golden-green luster, the tentacles are like strings, and their backs have a small pearl-coloured mimicry flower. When a group of pearl butterflies chase and play in the forest, it is like flower elves dancing in the dappled sunlight.
NAUTILUS BEETLE (DARK):
The most special feature of Nautilus Beetle is that their back wings are bare, rather than hidden under the elytra. In addition, their huge nautilus-like head armour and hidden breastplate are also a major feature. They are aggressive, have a pair of strong upper jaws and horns, and are good at pinching and throwing opponents. They are a kind of colour-changing beetle that can present two completely different colours at night and day. They are metallic dark brown at night, and gradually turns into a brilliant green-orange colour when the dawn begins.
