RAY is an amphibious model of Metal Gear initially designed to hunt down Metal Gear REX derivatives. Although the model technically lacked the ability to launch nukes, it was considered a Metal Gear because of it being designed to counter REX derivatives, which did possess the ability to launch nukes, which nonetheless fell under the pretenses of nuclear strategy.
The Metal Gear RAY half-sized edition comes ready to do battle with its nemesis, the Metal Gear REX. The Half-sized edition features all the articulation and detail of its larger counterpart. Even at a more compact size, the RAY’s full wingspan spreads an impressive 17.7 inches!
