In the follow-up to Inside Out (2015), the teenage Riley Andersen's mind encounters a range of new emotions. Alongside the familiar Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust that once ruled her control center, she now faces the arrival of Anxiety, as well as Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Nostalgia. As Riley gears up for high school, her original emotions collaborate to reorganize her memories, helping to shape her identity and creating connections that reflect her true self. The existing emotions are taken aback by Anxiety, one of the newcomers in Riley's mind, as this new teenager prepares for every possible negative scenario, crafting detailed lists and plans to avoid mistakes, always thinking several steps ahead and openly discussing worst-case situations. Anxiety understands the weight of the challenges ahead but believes that pushing Riley toward perfection will bring her closer to her aspirations. Representing feelings of nervousness, tension, and stress, Anxiety's primary role is to shield Riley from unseen dangers and to strategize for the future.
