Abraham Sapien, also known as Langdon Everett Caul, is a captivating character from Mike Mignola's renowned comic book series, Hellboy. His unique title, "Ichthyo sapien," originates from the prestigious Oannes Club of the 19th century, drawing inspiration from the great Abraham Lincoln himself. Fascinatingly, the Oannes Club preserved him in a state of suspended animation within a tank beneath a hospital in Washington D.C., coinciding with the tragic day of Lincoln's assassination, accompanied by a cryptic note as an explanation.

In the thrilling film adaptation of Hellboy by Guillermo del Toro, the talented actor Doug Jones flawlessly portrayed the enigmatic Abe Sapien. Jones showcased remarkable strength, speed, and agility, captivating audiences with his performance. However, the film omitted Abe's psychic abilities and breathing apparatus, focusing instead on his incredible amphibious nature. This led to him being affectionately referred to as the "amphibious man."
