Deftones' second studio album, Around the Fur, was released on October 28, 1997, under Maverick Records. The singles "My Own Summer (Shove It)" and "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" were accompanied by music videos. In June 1999, the album received a gold certification from the RIAA and later achieved platinum status in 2011.
