When Crisis on Infinite Earths initially altered the continuity, The Question transitioned to Earth from a different reality. His journey came to an end when he succumbed to cancer, but he made sure that answers would always be available by mentoring Gotham City detective Renee Montoya to take on the mantle of the new Question. After Flashpoint, The Question was reinterpreted as a mystical enigma. Long ago, alongside Pandora and the Phantom Stranger, he confronted the Council of Eternity to atone for his wrongdoings.

Unyielding and unapologetic, he faced a punishment that involved having his identity and appearance magically erased. In contemporary times, he sought out Pandora’s Box, aiming to uncover the truth about his identity. He joined forces with the Phantom Stranger and Pandora to form the Trinity of Sin, but ultimately betrayed them. Following this betrayal, he disappeared, leaving no trace of his whereabouts.
