In their eight years since emerging from Melbourne's pub-rock scene, Amyl and The Sniffers have honed a unique blend of power and playfulness. With two acclaimed albums behind them, including 2021’s visceral Comfort To Me, the band—fronted by Amy Taylor with guitarist Declan Mehrtens, bassist Gus Romer, and drummer Bryce Wilson—continues to push boundaries.
Their third album, Cartoon Darkness, recorded with producer Nick Launay at Foo Fighters’ 606 Studios, offers a diverse sound palette, from classic punk to glam and balladry. The album tackles themes of climate crisis, war, AI, and modern-day disconnection, capturing a blend of dystopian chaos and the desire for hedonistic escape. Cartoon Darkness is a darkly playful dive into an uncertain future.

However, sometimes items do become damaged in transit or there is some sort of manufacturing issue thereby making the goods unfit for their intended purpose. Popcultcha will only accept returns, process refunds, or exchange goods if we are contacted or notified within 7 days of you receiving the goods at your nominated delivery address. Upon us receiving the notification of damage or a manufacturing issue, we may request photographic evidence of the parcel and/or the particular product that has the issue. We will review this photo and contact you at our earliest convenience to discuss you options in relation to the product issue.
